Thou Shall Not Covet

The hat below was shown as a sample piece sent to Johnny Cupcakes by New Era posted to Johnny Cupcake's blog. For the past few months I have had the jpeg on my desk top as a constant reminder to keep checking to see when they finally became ready for retail. And it was strictly, the hat shown below that really grabbed me.

I waited and waited and waited. After a while, I just wanted to see what hat was selected for production. I figured it would either be the hat above or the 2 below.

So finally last week J.C. releases that the New Era hat is on it's way and available on Ebay before the webstore. I jumped over to ebay immediately and found the gem (read piece of shit) below. Really J.C.? A plain fucking black hat with the main appeal being "glow in the dark threading"? Cooooooooome on.
So now unless by some sort of miracle they release the awesome grey hat above, my dreams/hopes/desires of a J. Cupcakes flat brim are now by the way side. Might make some calls, but think this might just be the one that got away.
