Investment vs Responsible Spending vs Overpriced Purchase

I would love to say that I actually know what I'm talking about when it comes to responsible investments and saving for the future and all of that jazz. Thing is, I don't. I'm lucky enough where I don't care about souped up cars, or have some weird collection that drains my wallet. I do however see things that make me stop and want to own them.

The following piece is just that.

Mass produced by Z Gallerie, the pretty little picture you see retails at $400 and is about 40x60 inches of canvas with finish. I have no clue about the artist, doubt that the piece is going to appreciate in value over time, and understand that there is a large possibility that I may enter many a house to find the same piece of art hanging. Still though, I like it.

Now I am nobody to be purchasing art (at least $400 art without a coupon (Please do not hate on the coupon)). I woke up this morning on top of my bed underneath two Snuggies after going to bed sober, so obviously I still relish in my youth and that kinda stuff being borderline acceptable (If you had two Snuggies you would too). Yet this painting calls my name and the $400 dollar price tag will just have to be worked with.

I have the wall space, the desire, and could probly budget this out to make it possible. No clue if it will actually be mine, but at this point I am kinda thinking yes.
